I love anything new. The smell of a new baby. A new box of crayons. A fresh sheet of crisp white paper. The only problem with newness is nothing stays new. Before long the baby grows into a teenager. Scars

Many of our bodies have scars. Scars adorn knees from bike accidents. Scars remain on hands from falls in the ice. Faces may wear scars of acne or chicken pox. Other scars are not visible. Scars are left on our hearts from betrayal, loneliness, abuse, depression, anxiety, grief and a host of other emotions. It is hard to make it through life without scars.
