Museum of Appalachia

Museum of Appalachia

On our numerous I-75 road trips from Flordia to Kentucky, we have passed the Museum of Appalachia billboard and asked ourselves repeatedly, “I wonder if that is any good?” We finally decided a few months ago to give the museum a try. We were blown away with the museum and the breadth of the history we learned. Founded in 1969 with one log cabin, the museum has grown to include exhibit halls overflowing with authentic artifacts and dozens of historic log structures. Even though the day was cold and rainy, our family enjoyed walking around and viewing the expansive collection. However visitors do not only learn about the history via artifacts, the Clinton, TN Museum also instills in guests an appreciation of the hardworking and ingenious Appalachian people. Now when we pass the Museum of Appalachia sign, we know it is definitely worth the time to stop.
