A visit to England has been on my bucket list for quite some time. Yet, something always gets in the way, like house payments, braces for one of my kids, and buying groceries. Even though I’m stuck here in Central Flordia, I recently had the opportunity to experience England without even crossing the pond. Thanks to the Windsor Rose Tea Room in Mt. Dora Florida, I was able to briefly immerse myself in English culture.
Since 1991, the Tea Room has delighted visitors with their English memorabilia, teas, and a menu of homemade English inspired fare. During our girls only outing, my mother in law and I sampled the Windsor, a full English tea. At $36 for both of us, I felt the meal was competitively priced for a Mt. Dora lunch. Served on a two tier cake stand, the full meal for two consisted of two slices of Queen Victoria sponge cake, assorted finger sandwiches, pastries, scones with cream and strawberry jam and two different teas in individual teapots. The meal was tasty and more than we could eat. With the varied menu and friendly, prompt service, I am definitely looking for another reason to visit the Windsor Rose Tea Room.
