Before the famous mouse captivated Central Florida, the Citrus Tower was one of Florida’s first tourist attractions. Built to showcase the citrus industry, the Citrus Tower is located on Highway 27 in Clermont. Thousands flocked to the Citrus Tower after its construction in 1956. Visitors enjoyed the view of the citrus groves, lakes, and rolling hills from the 226-ft. vantage point. Even though the countess acres of citrus groves have faded, the highest observation point in Florida still stands as a memorial to the history of Central Florida. The glass-enclosed observation deck provides a stunning view of the surrounding 8 country area. The tower also boasts, Lilly’s Gifts, a cute gift shop that offers one of a kind gifts, souvenirs, Florida themed items and much more. If you visit the Citrus Tower in December you can expect to be awed by their amazing Christmas light show. The Citrus Tower located at 141 North Hwy. 27, Clermont is open Monday-Saturday from 9-5. It is closed on Sundays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Visitors can ride to the top of the Citrus Tower, $6 for adults and $4 for children. Group rates are available.
